Meet Owen, our new Tenor!
We’re excited to announce our new tenor, joining us in April!

We are so excited to announce our new tenor, Owen Butcher, who will be joining us in April!
Owen graduated from the University of York with a BA in Music, followed by an MA in Vocal Studies. Whilst in York, Owen embraced contemporary singing, performing roles in a number of musical theatre productions as well as Musical Director/Arranger for the university’s a cappella ensemble.
Since graduating, he has been developing his career as a freelance musician, most notably marking his Off West End debut as Alan Turing in ‘Alan Turing - A Musical Biography’. Owen also runs a vocal coaching business, teaching singing in music academies and running regular community singing workshops.
Beyond the realm of singing, Owen is an avid climber, board game enthusiast, trombonist and cook.

Meet Mallika, our new Soprano!
📣 We are thrilled to announce our new member joining us in June 2023, Mallika Bhagwat 📣
Mallika blew us away with her effortless blend, beautiful tone and warm energy. We’ve loved singing with her so far and can’t wait for more!
Originally from Mumbai, Mallika moved to the UK aged 11 and is now settled in London. While studying at King’s College London, she sang with The Rolling Tones for 4 years, with 2 years as their musical director. She is now completing a PhD studying the vocal technique of female playback singers in Bollywood. She is also a student of the Hindustani vocal tradition, specifically Ghazal.

“I'm beyond humbled and so excited to become a part of this iconic group of singers. I've been a huge fan for so many years now and embarking on this new adventure as a Swingle feels like an actual dream come true! I can't wait to see what the future holds (once my voice has recovered from all the excited shrieking)!”
