We are very excited to announce our new low bass, Tom Hartley, who will be joining us from November 2022. Tom was instantly a great fit for The Swingles and it has been a pleasure singing with him so far. We can’t wait for you to meet him as we head into a season full of exciting new projects and collaborations.
Tom grew up in Dorset singing in local choirs and bands, before moving to Cardiff University, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his time in Wales, Tom became heavily involved in their A Cappella Society, including directing their all-male group and appearing in Netflix’s series ‘Sex Education’. Most recently he has sung bass with London’s ‘Choir Co’.
Tom says: “I was first introduced to The Swingles in my first year of University, and since then have built a slow burning (and maybe unhealthy) obsession with their music and arrangements. Getting to sing with the group in the auditions was exciting enough, but to become a Swingle myself is completely surreal. I am so excited for this next chapter and beyond honoured to be a part of this incredible team!”
In a process with extremely talented candidates, we were super impressed with Tom’s smooth sound, natural musicality and warm energy. Please join us in welcoming him to the Swingle family!
