The Swingles Workshop: “Singing Without a Safety Net”

We all have music inside us – some of us just have a hard time getting it out! Banish your inhibitions and use the tools we all possess to create music in the moment. Beginning with some fun warm-ups, and progressing through improvisation games and listening exercises, participants will soon find themselves composing musical masterpieces on the fly. Suitable for any age or level of experience, this is a truly empowering session that gets to the heart of what musicality means.

The Swingles will lead a vocal workshop through sing-along arrangements of various songs encompassing pop, jazz and classical styles. This workshop will give you the tools to step outside your musical comfort zone and explore different vocal techniques and approaches.

Following the workshop, The Swingles will join the National Youth Choir of Great Britain (NYCGB) and London Youth Choir in an afternoon of song including a performance of The Swingle’s new work Until It's Gone - music for our planet, which premiered in 2022 with NYCGB.
